Privacy Policy
Here is the honest, short version: this is a personal patient guide, we use Google Analytics to count visits, and we do not sell or share your information with anyone.
1.1Who runs this site
ramsayhuntsyndrome.com (the “Site”) is a personal patient field guide about Ramsay Hunt syndrome, written from lived experience. It is owned and operated by Debrosland, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a Colorado limited liability company.
This is a personal, informational website. It shares one patient’s experience and is not medical advice, and it is not a store, a real-estate service, or a data business.
1.2The short version
We collect almost nothing. We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages help. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their marketing. If you email us or subscribe to the newsletter, we use that only to reply to you or send you the guide.
1.3What we collect
We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the Site:
- Analytics data (Google Analytics). Aggregate, statistical information such as pages viewed, approximate region, device and browser type, and the site that referred you. We use this only to understand traffic and improve the guide.
- Your email address — only if you give it to us. If you subscribe to the newsletter (handled by Substack) or email us directly, we receive your email address and message.
- That’s it. There are no accounts to create, no payments taken on this Site, and nothing for sale that requires your personal data.
1.4What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for their own marketing.
- We are not a real-estate, land, or lead-generation business, and none of your information is ever used for anything of that kind.
- We do not use your information to build advertising profiles about you.
1.5The third-party services we rely on
Running even a simple site means using a few trusted providers. Each has its own privacy practices, and we encourage you to review them:
- Website hosting (our hosting provider), which keeps the Site online.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC), for anonymous, aggregate traffic measurement.
- Substack (Substack Inc.), only if you choose to subscribe to the newsletter — your email is stored with them so we can send you the guide and updates.
We share information with these providers strictly to operate the Site and deliver what you asked for — never for their independent marketing.
1.6Cookies
The Site uses a small number of cookies — essential ones that keep it working, and Google Analytics cookies that count visits. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. Full detail is in our Cookie Policy.
1.7Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, we will honor the following on request:
- Access: ask what information we hold about you.
- Correction or deletion: ask us to fix or delete it.
- Unsubscribe: leave the newsletter at any time using the link in any email, or by asking us.
- Analytics opt-out: use your browser’s Global Privacy Control signal or Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
To make any request, email hello@ramsayhuntsyndrome.com. We aim to respond within a reasonable time and will never charge you for it.
1.8Keeping your information safe
We keep your email only for as long as you stay subscribed or as needed to answer you, and we use reasonable measures to protect it. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, so we can’t promise absolute security — but we collect so little that there is very little to expose.
1.9Children
This Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
1.10Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Site changes. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be noted on this page.
